ACE’s is located off of Truxtun Avenue just west of Oak Street behind Jim Burke Ford on Westwind Drive. The address is 1721 Westwind Drive, Suite B., Bakersfield California, 93301. The entrance is located on the west side (back) of the building.
As a 501(c)(3), the Advanced Center for Eyecare relies on the generosity of our community in order to provide sight-restoring eye care to those in Bakersfield and all of Kern County. Your donations help children see their mothers and fathers clearly once again, gives adults back their ability to work to support their families, and supports elderly individuals in regaining their independence.
ACE provides medical and surgical eye care, as well as primary medical care for underserved and uninsured children, adults, and seniors in Kern County in the following disciplines:
ACE’s Bakersfield doctors provide routine eye exams, diabetic eye exams, eye disease management and testing, contact lens assessments, surgical eye care, and primary medical care. And through our in-house Optical Department, which features a large selection of stylish metal and plastic frames, we are able to fill prescriptions for eyeglasses.
Our mission is to make high-quality medical care available to everybody in Kern County, regardless of their ability to pay. To that end, ACE is proud to accept most public health plans such as Kern Family Healthcare, HealthNet, Straight Medi-Cal, Medicare, Medi/Medi, and Covered California. ACE also accepts several vision insurance plans, including VSP, MES, and Envolve, as well as most private medical PPO insurance plans. And for those without insurance, ACE offers an income-based sliding scale program and donation-supported grant program.
The Advanced Center for Eyecare is the only specialized eye care non-profit organization in Kern County and with the support of our community, we are committed to reducing the number of people who are living in darkness. Thank you again for your interest in ACE, and we hope to count you as a patient or supporter.
1 in 4 children has a vision problem that can interfere with their ability to learn. That’s why ACE is proud to partner with OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation, an independent nonprofit committed to eradicating the global vision care crisis, the Bakersfield City School District (BCSD), and the Delano Union Elementary School District (DUESD) to offer comprehensive eye exams and glasses to their students at four School-Based Vision Centers.
